Afternoon Beer Break: Left Hand Nitro Imperial Coffee Milk Stout

Over the last year or two, I’ve found myself leaning more towards the IPA styles of beers, particularly as the hop varieties have been played with, and all sorts of interesting flavors unfold. Before that, however, I was a “the darker the better” sort of a guy, and in the cold weather months, I tend to drift back to those stouts and porters. Given the amount of coffee I regularly consume, I was quite interested to see the Left Hand Nitro Imperial Coffee Milk Stout show up in a recent sampler we got in.

Afternoon Beer Break: Left Hand Peanut Butter Milk Stout

While most people tend to have a favorite style of beer, there are some of us who like to change it up. For me, that tends to be seasonal, with the lighter lagers, IPAs and fruited stuff hitting in the warm temps, and the stuff that’s as dark as winter evening in, well, the winter. Which means I like to switch it over to stouts. Lately, I’ve been trying some sweeter options (sometimes called “dessert” stouts), one of the latest of those being the Left Hand Peanut Butter Milk Stout.

Afternoon Beer Break: Begyle Flannel Pajamas

Ah, fall. Which, in the midwest, can just as easily swing into winter, back up into Indian Summer, then zip back to throwing some snow on the ground. Which means – along with the furnace being turned on – it’s time to break out the jams. The warm pajamas, that is. And hey, why not mix a stout in there too? Afternoon Beer Break: Black Horizon Campfire Fun
