When we think about power-on-the-go, it tends to be in terms of power banks that slide into a bag to top off our phone while we’re out and about, or perhaps even something that can drive enough electrons to power a laptop. The Anker PowerHouse 100 has a neat trick

Ever since we had a multi-day power outage over the summer, I’ve been paying a lot more attention to what battery packs we’ve got in our house. The small ones we had didn’t cut the mustard, so I picked up an Anker Powercore 10000 which has been great for portable on-the-go electrons. The Anker PowerHouse 100, well, that’s a whole different deal.

You won’t know you want the Jackery portable power station until you need it

Devices like Jackery’s portable power station – essentially a big battery that lets you charge USB and mains-powered devices – are seemingly only useful in an emergency. After all, who needs a heavy battery that can last a few hours on a charge unless you’re in the middle of a hurricane.
