You can get casually fit with the Polar Unite

Right off the bat, I’ll put a disclaimer out there – I like the Polar products, and use a Polar Vantage M daily for tracking my jogging and bike riding (and the gym sessions, whenever that opens up again). The Polar Ignite was the first foray into a less intense watch, and now they’re back with the Polar Unite in that same vein.

Introducing the Polar H9

For most folks, simply tracking activity is enough for their fitness goals. Those looking to get a little more in-depth insights on their exercise might opt for any number of wrist-mounted devices with a HR sensor (like this one). Past that – or if you have a tracker you already like – you’re looking at something like a stand-alone heart rate strap. These – while offering great accuracy (because they’re, you know, right over your heart) – can tend to bring “pro” prices to the party. This is where the new Polar H9 is looking to shine.

Polar has a new firmware update for the Vantage available

It seems like it wasn’t all that long ago when we were talking about a new firmware for the Polar Vantage and Vantage M. And you know what? It wasn’t! The Polar Ignite is available in some other colors

Hey, so remember the Polar Ignite that we reviewed earlier this week? While I thought there were some technical shortcomings that firmware and app development could overcome, it’s not a bad fitness watch. It just needed some more time in the usability labs. That aside, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more compact fitness-oriented watch.

Light a fitness fire with the Polar Ignite

As I mentioned in the earlier article about the new Fitbit releases, my main training partner over the last few years has come from the folks at Polar. I’ve reviewed a variety of their watchesand it seems that each one has been better than the last. Will the Polar Ignite keep that trend going? We went hands-on to find out.
