Afternoon Beer Break: Left Hand Brewing Moscow Mule

What in the world – two weeks in a row of the Afternoon Beer Break? Well, at the risk of something approaching continuity, that’s what we’re doing. While I’m all for strong and forward flavors in a beer, I know not everyone is rowing that particular boat. If that’s you, and you tend to prefer the flavors in a cocktail, there are options out there as well. In this case, it’s the Left Hand Brewing Moscow Mule.

Afternoon Beer Break: Stone Brewing Dayfall

If you’re looking for a cool beverage at the end of a warm day, you’re probably thinking of a pilsner, lager, or IPA. But why not something a bit more Belgian? Sure, they tend to be a bit more spiced (which puts one in mind of colder weather) but why not a Belgian White? From my recent trial of the Stone Brewing Dayfall, this is a solid option for those summer evenings.

Brew your own with BEERMKR

When you start getting into beer, you also start to hear whispers of the world of homebrew. I’ve had some really good homebrews from folks that have gotten some rather impressive setups. When you see those, it can seem really daunting to get into. I mean, I can get around a kitchen just fine, but there’s a lot of stainless to go with the science. This year has, well, been a year. We had gotten on a roll with the Afternoon Beer Break, and then it just got away from us. Well, 2021 is just around the bend. And sure, flipping the calendar page won’t immediately change things, but it will bring something new to the fore – the Rogue Colossal Claude Imperial IPA.

The Afternoon Beer Break: New Belgium 1554

If you’ve not caught on yet, I’ve got a few breweries that I tend to favor more, and explore a wider variety of their offerings. You know, some, you’ve got one you know you like, and you stick with just that (perhaps got burned by trying a different style). Then there are others that, whatever the style and flavor combo, they just seem to be right in your wheelhouse. New Belgium is one of those brands for me. While most are familiar with Fat Tire (which is “just ok” in my book), I’ve liked more of the Voodoo Ranger offerings. Well, after chatting with Patrick Morgan for an interview (seen here), I’ve tried others, and today we’re talking about the New Belgium 1554.
