Getting charged up with the Mophie Juice Pack Air

Over the past few months, I’ve written about a number of iPhone cases, as well as the process of replacing the battery in my own iPhone (you can read that here). Well, what about if you just need extra battery, even with a fresh internal one? That’s where battery cases come in. There are some very clever ones with the newer phones that support wireless charging, for sure. For those of us rocking older (but still very functional) phones, cases like the Mophie Juice Pack Air are where it’s at.

Now Funding: the Qi-enabled TuffyPack

Cell phones are an all-but-indispensable part of most of our lives. Given their utility, being able to have a full charge throughout the day has drawn folks to the idea of battery pack phone cases, rather than carrying a separate battery. Makes sense, you’ve always got it with you, ready to top the phone off. One drawback is the large bump most introduce to the profile of our thin phones. Addressing that issue is the new TuffyPack.

Android battery draining faster than it used to?

As it turns out, it may not be your imagination. Sure, batteries degrade over time, and sometimes they just straight up need replacement. However, if it was able to get you going through a day and then all of a sudden is acting like an electron sieve, then the latest Google Play update may be to blame.

Recharging an iPhone with iFixit

No doubt, we all (especially if you’re reading this site) love our tech. That may be in what we work with in our day jobs, in the gadgets we fiddle with after work, and especially in the phones we carry with us all day. Batteries are the Achilles Heel of many, especially now that we’re far removed from the days of easily-removed-and-swapped batteries. THat’s where the fine folks at iFixit come into the picture – they’ll show you how to fix just about anything on your phone, and have kits to help you do it. A little while back, I used their kit to replace the battery in my iPhone 6S, and want to tell you about that experience.
