Afternoon Beer Break: the Rogue Pineapple Party Punch

Yes, after a hiatus of sorts, the beer break is back! Though, this one is a bit different, as we’re talking about a beer that isn’t quite available yet. Read on to see what the Rogue Pineapple Party Punch will do for your tastebuds in October.

Yes, October – while many folks will be thinking pumpkin pie flavors (and I do have my favorites in that arena), there’s still plenty of room for other flavors, right? And sure, these flavors here (pineapple? punch?) sound more like summer, but this year is all upside down, so why not mix up those seasonal flavors? Here’s what the brand has to say about it:

“Bursting with pineapple, coconut, and bright hop flavors, this imperial hazy IPA is reminiscent of our favorite tropical drink, the Piña Colada,” says Hagen Moore, VP of Marketing and Creative. “Summer may be ending, but this hazy, flavorful brew will help you keep the summer vibes going all year long. Pineapple Party Punch is just what we need to finish out 2020.”

I’ve had some mixed experiences with coconut (I’ve found them to be a great addition to sour beers), and pineapple tends to be a more muted note in the beers I’ve tried that have it. This combo here, all wrapped up in a hazy IPA, well, that sounds like one that might just work. Keep an eye out for it this fall, and check out the details over at rogue.com

Afternoon Beer Break: Left Hand Peanut Butter Milk Stout

While most people tend to have a favorite style of beer, there are some of us who like to change it up. For me, that tends to be seasonal, with the lighter lagers, IPAs and fruited stuff hitting in the warm temps, and the stuff that’s as dark as winter evening in, well, the winter. Which means I like to switch it over to stouts. Lately, I’ve been trying some sweeter options (sometimes called “dessert” stouts), one of the latest of those being the Left Hand Peanut Butter Milk Stout.

Afternoon Beer Break – some newer offerings from Rogue

As often as we can – whatever it is we’re covering – we like to go hands-on with the product in question. And, in all of our Afternoon Beer Breaks, we’ve done precisely that. Today, however, we’re going to cover things from a distance, so to speak, and talk to you about a few newer offerings coming out from Rogue.

Afternoon Beer Break: Old Nation M-43 IPA

Well, friends, we made it through another work week, and you know what that means – it’s time for an afternoon beer break. Last week I went with a more local brew, and today, we’re talking about one that’s from the state that I used to call home, Michigan. Let’s have a gander at what the Old Nation M-43 IPA.

Afternoon Beer Break: 18th Street Candi Crushable

For today’s edition of the Afternoon Beer Break, we’re going to talk about a beer with an ingredient that I had not experienced in a beer before – lactose sugar. If you’ve been looking for (or drinking) milk stouts or the various of that ilk (sometimes with a milkshake moniker), odds are you’ve had lactose sugar-enhanced beer. My first go-around with it was with the 18th Street Candi Crushable.

Afternoon Beer Break: Black Horizon Stealing Sunshine

When it comes to beers, there’s a wide, wide world of variety out there. I don’t know about where you live, but here in the Greater Chicagoland area, there are a great number of breweries, big and small, making a variety of drinks to get your attention, with any number of styles and flavors getting put together. Today, we’re going to go ultra-local (at least, for me) with the Black Horizon Stealing Sunshine.
