The other week, we had strong storms move through the area, and we experienced the longest power outage I can remember. Thankfully, it’s been since restored, but it made me realize I needed to evaluate what I had around the house to keep phones charged up in an emergency. Funnily enough, there were four new Mophie power packs just recently announced.

I mean, Mophie has had any number of battery solutions available, so what makes these latest intriguing? These new ones all feature USB-C PD ports that are both used to charge batteries, as well as then output power to a device. For those looking for a “plain” old battery pack, the Mophie powerstation (10,000 mAh) and Mophie powerstation XXL (20,000 mAh) are what you want to look at. The non-XXL one can charge two devices at once (one USB-A, one USB-C) while the XXL can do three devices (two USB-A, one USB-C). The Mophie powerstation runs $49.95 while the XXL goes for $59.95.

On the other hand, if you also want the capability for wireless charging, Mophie still has you covered. With the Mophie powerstation wireless XL, you basically take the 10k battery pack from above, put in a Qi-enabled charging surface, and voila – you’re in business. With this, you can then charge three devices at once (USB-A, USB-C, and Qi) all for $69.95. If you want something that’s more just there on your desk, and then portable in an emergency, the Mophie powerstation wireless stand is what you are looking for. This one has an 8,000 mAh battery in it, as well as USB-A and USB-C port. It can be plugged into the wall (adapter included) or be taken on the go, as the stand will fold flat. This one runs $99.95.

So, there you have it – the four latest power packs from Mophie (and they’ve got plenty of others, including ones with built-in cables to charge your device). So, if you’re like me and looking to bolster your emergency preparedness, might be worth checking these out.

Features from Mophie

  • Priority+? Charging ? sends power to your device first then recharges the powerstation.
  • Integrated LED power indicator ? four lights display the charging status and current battery life.
  • Triple-test certified lithium-polymer batteries ? every mophie battery product is tested at three different stages of production to ensure unmatched output, efficiency and build quality, along with reliable, long-lasting performance.
