Though thinking about traveling seems like a pipe dream these days – between cold, snowy weather and COVID – there will be a time where we’ll get out. Hey, even road tripping with your family can be done. And if you are getting out and about, good bags to keep your stuff together and organized is definitely key. To that end, the folks over at Peak Design have a few options that could help you out.

Now funding: Altitude Wallet
Well, to be fair, it was already funded on Kickstarter – but if you missed that campaign (as I did) you’ve got a second chance now over on Indiegogo. So, what is the Altitude Wallet?
(more…)Shinola + Benchmade = a titanium delight
As you may – or may not – know, Shinola has expanded over the past few years from building watches in Detroit, to all manner of items that could be considered lifestyle items. I’m a fan of the brand (given my connections to the area), but for the life of me I never knew they made knives. One of their latest is sure to catch many eyes – the Shinola + Benchmade Titanium Pocket Knife.
(more…)The BioLite Headlamp 750, for balanced illumination
I’ve become quite curious and intrigued by what BioLite produces ever since I first laid eyes on their Camp Stove (which we reviewed earlier this year), and discovered they’ve got a Fire Pit that uses similar tech. That’s not all they do. I thought I was set for headlamps, and then I got word of the BioLite Headlamp 750, which was just announced today.
(more…)Lighten your load with the Smallet
If you recall, earlier this month, we told you about a new crowdfunded “wallet” going by the name of Smallet (you can check that out here). Well, I’ve been spending the past few weeks with one, and can tell you how it works in practice.
(more…)There’s minimal, and then there’s the Smallet
When it comes to your wallet, well, you probably don’t think too much about it other than making sure you’ve got your cards, and probably some cash. As part of something you carry every day, though, it’s worth giving it some thought, as it can really help you slim down what is in your pocket. To that end, the most minimal one I’ve seen to date (other than a rubber band or binder clip) is the Smallet.
(more…)For when you need to touch things, there’s the Nudge
While most of us are staying home, there are certainly cases where we do need to head out – say, to get groceries. And, at some point we’re presumably going to getting back to a form of regular life, commuting and whatnot. If you want to avoid touching as much as you can, small devices like the Nudge are ready to help you touch things at a distance.
(more…)Staying Sharp with the Finch Runtly
Not that long ago, we told you about a newer pocket knife company that had come on the scene. We were interested in what they were creating, as one of the founders is the same fellow who’s behind Raven Watches. Those watches are some seriously nice pieces, so it seems reasonable to assume that these knives would be much the same. Handily enough, we’ve been spending time with the Finch Runtly, and can give you our take on it.
(more…)Introducing Finch Knives
What’s this, a run on EDC posts? Sure, why not? There’s plenty of things that you carry with you every day, and one of the most useful – in my opinion – is the trusty ol’ pocketknife. I tend to switch around between a few options depending on the dress code of the day, but if you want one that can do it all, this new Finch Runtly may just do the ticket.
(more…)It’s simple – we make a compact pen out of titanium
When it comes to what you carry with you every day, there are some basics that we?d all agree on – phone and wallet, primarily. Past that, well, opinions diverge. I?ve got a watch with me daily, as well as a pocket knife and handkerchief. Oh, yes, and a pen, because you never know when you might need a quick scribble or two. Currently, I?ve got a Fisher Space Pen (my second, as I lost the first), but there?s this new project, aptly called the Ti Mini Pen, that rather caught my eye.
