In Review: Peak Design Everyday Sling

Back in February, we did a rundown of some interesting products from Peak Design. Since then, we gave you a hands-on review of their Tech Pouch, and we also had another one come in as well. While the Tech Pouch can help organize just about any bag you have (including the one we review today), I’m always on the lookout for something than work as an everyday bag, as well as supplementing “one bag travel” trips (whenever those start up) – enter the Peak Design Everyday Sling.

The MecArmy CPL – one small light, served up two ways

When it comes to items that you’d be considering for your everyday carry (aka EDC), a flashlight often hits that list of must-carries. I’ve got a small one on my keychain, and of course our phones can work as one in a pinch. You’re likely already wearing a watch, and perhaps carrying a pocketknife or multitool. So, why not expand the capability of those with a light attachment? That’s what the MecArmy CPL is offering.

A quick Peak Design Roundup

Though thinking about traveling seems like a pipe dream these days – between cold, snowy weather and COVID – there will be a time where we’ll get out. Hey, even road tripping with your family can be done. And if you are getting out and about, good bags to keep your stuff together and organized is definitely key. Shinola + Benchmade = a titanium delight

As you may – or may not – know, Shinola has expanded over the past few years from building watches in Detroit, to all manner of items that could be considered lifestyle items. The BioLite Headlamp 750, for balanced illumination

I’ve become quite curious and intrigued by what BioLite produces ever since I first laid eyes on their Camp Stove (which we reviewed earlier this year), and discovered they’ve got a Fire Pit that uses similar tech. That’s not all they do. I thought I was set for headlamps, and then I got word of the BioLite Headlamp 750, which was just announced today.

There’s minimal, and then there’s the Smallet

When it comes to your wallet, well, you probably don’t think too much about it other than making sure you’ve got your cards, and probably some cash. As part of something you carry every day, though, it’s worth giving it some thought, as it can really help you slim down what is in your pocket. To that end, the most minimal one I’ve seen to date (other than a rubber band or binder clip) is the Smallet.

For when you need to touch things, there’s the Nudge

While most of us are staying home, there are certainly cases where we do need to head out – say, to get groceries. And, at some point we’re presumably going to getting back to a form of regular life, commuting and whatnot. If you want to avoid touching as much as you can, small devices like the Nudge are ready to help you touch things at a distance.

Staying Sharp with the Finch Runtly

Not that long ago, we told you about a newer pocket knife company that had come on the scene. We were interested in what they were creating, as one of the founders is the same fellow who’s behind Raven Watches. Those watches are some seriously nice pieces, so it seems reasonable to assume that these knives would be much the same. Handily enough, we’ve been spending time with the Finch Runtly, and can give you our take on it.
