When you’re getting your clothes together for summer activities, do you give much thought to your belt? Obviously, you want it to coordinate in with the outfit, but what if you’re going to be heading out for active things, like some beach volleyball or hiking? Sure, your shorts will have some stretch built in (these days) to allow you to move freely, but what about your belt? Odds are, unless it’s one from Arcade Belts, you’re not moving as freely as you could be.

For a belt, the right fit is key. With a traditional leather belt, you’re going for something that’s about the right size, and then cinching down to get to where the tang on the buckle can be close enough. That is, unless you’ve got something a good bit more adjustable, like my favorites (for a dress belt) from Slidebelts. Now, these belts from Arcade don’t have that same ratchet system, but they do have a micro-adjustment in their buckle that allows you to get just the right fit.

Unlike any other textile belt you maybe have in the closet, there’s no threading things through loops and whatnot. Just a good ol’ buckle (like you have on your backpack, for instance, but thinner) that makes securing (or loosening) the belt about as easy as it can be. Once it’s in place, the material of the belt has stretch built into it, meaning it can move along with you, just as your shorts and pants do. This is going to make for a much more comfortable wearing experience in the long run.

It’s also not going to weigh you down, between the webbing and the high-density plastic buckle that is built in. Past that, you’ve got a variety of textures, colors, and patterns available. The $29.95 Arcade Adventure belt is a great starting point, offering a smooth look and a variety of colors. Want something a bit more textured, then the $39.95 Arcade Capture belt brings a woven pattern along, in a few different solid tones. Finally, their $29.95 Futureweave belt looks like those woven leather belts we all had back in the 90s. It’s a lot of solid options, and seems like a great addition to your trip outside.
