Ahoy! There are new Casio Edifice’s to be had!

Back in the spring, we wrote about some new Casio Edifice 900-series models, and since then, we reviewed a 1000-series model (which happens to be my favorite, to-date). Well, today, we’re back into the 900-series, as they just announced two new models in the Casio Edifice ECB900 lineup.

Frankly, at this point, if you’re considering a watch from the Casio Edifice lineup, it’s largely a question of style – in other words, what sort of style do you want? It’s not that these aren’t technical watches (they are; check out the list below) it’s just that they all have more-or-less the same functionality across the line. If you want something super thin, then you go for the EQB1000, for instance. So, what’s the story on these? I’ll let Casio explain:

Made to go from weekday meetings to weekend outings, Casio’s latest EDIFICE variations offer bold new designs with smart phone connectivity. The ECB900DB-1C is outfitted with a silver stainless-steel band and black watch dial with gold accents, while the ECB900PB-1A is equipped with a comfortable, black polyurethane band and black IP case and bezel with a charcoal grey accented dial.

So, what you’ve got, is something that’s going for a bit more of an upscale look (with the black-and-gold), or for more of a weekend (read: more casual) vibe in black-and-grey. Me, I’m generally not one for yellow gold tones, but I think that it works well here, and is the better-looking option of the two pieces. If you agree, you’re in luck, as that version runs just $200 while the darker-toned variant (on rubber and not a bracelet) hits the $220 mark. Just remember – there are a lot of minor variations in the lineup all hiding the same tech. So, survey the catalog closely and go for the one that has the look you want. edifice.casio.com
